Learning Environment

Corporate and Executive Education is the executive unit at the Waikato Management School, specially designed with the executive profile in mind. At the heart of our business is your transformation – our purpose is to transform your mind, your career and your organisation. Our international connections mean our teaching and research is always at the cutting-edge of best business practice and our engagement with our commercial and professional stakeholders means you are learning practical knowledge and skills. Our students go on to become leaders in the public and private sectors, graduating with essential business skills and knowledge. They have the ability to think critically and carefully and to act responsibly and ethically. And they are well connected. We work closely with some of New Zealand’s most influential companies and organisations – including Fonterra, Carter Holt Harvey, Prolife Foods, WEL Energy, and AgResearch.

Alumni

Alumni lie at the heart of what we do. When you begin a programme with us, you enter a global elite network of executives who you can leverage off for expertise, contacts and advice. You can find our alumni scatted around the globe, so it doesn't matter where you come from or where you go, its highly likely we can connect you to a friendly face.

Our alumni activities are run by our alumni. We have an Alumni Board, comprised primarily of alumni, that drives our alumni programme. They know what alumni need at any given moment, because they live and breathe it themselves. Their vision is to ensure the vibrancy, engagement and connectedness of all who pass through CEE programmes.

We have regular alumni events, which often involve good food, engaging presenters and active networking, so alumni can expand their circles of familiarity and tap into other like minded, high calibre business leaders.

Campus and Culture

We have an outstanding faculty: our staff are distinguished scholars, teachers and highly sought-after business consultants. They all have a wealth of knowledge and experience, which they’re passionate about bringing into the classroom, and they make learning relevant, exciting and based on real life.

The experts that facilitate your classes are specially contracted to deliver on your programme. They are brought in from all over and are specifically selected for their broad and specialized expertise in their various areas, their active work in industry and their ability to deliver as first class teachers. They are regularly evaluated by you, and against benchmarks, so you can be sure you are receiving the most current, relevant, and practically applyable information available.

Our teaching staff confer with major companies and sit alongside senior executives on advisory boards and government taskforces. These close connections ensure the most relevant and practical business knowledge is brought into the classroom through case competitions, off-campus business projects and internships.

They are also national and international award winners for both teaching ability as well as contribution to the community in their various areas of expertise.
